Kevin Costner teams up with The Iceman director in Criminal


Kevin Costner is to star in ‘Criminal’.

The 59-year-old actor is in negotiations with director Ariel Vromen to star in the Millennium Films sci-fi thriller, a source close to the production has revealed to The Wrap.

‘The Bodyguard’ star will play a dangerous and unpredictable criminal who finds himself in unfamiliar territory when a dead CIA operative’s skills, secrets and memories are implanted into his brain, with the government agency hoping that he will finish the mission for them.

Costner – who has mixed darker roles in ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ and ‘Three Days To Kill’ with lighter parts in the Disney sports picture ‘McFarland’ – was most recently seen in the sports drama ‘Draft Day’ alongside Jennifer Garner.

Costner also starred in the critically acclaimed superman flick ‘Man Of Steel’ as Clark Kent’s father.

Ariel Vromen has been called in to direct the movie after the success of his 2012 crime thriller ‘The Iceman’ which starred Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, Chris Evans and Ray Liotta.

JC Spink, Chris Bender Jake Weiner and Kevin King are producing the movie, while Douglas Cook and David Weisberg are writing the script.

It is so far unknown as to when shooting will begin for ‘Criminal’.
