Bananarama, Jack Savoretti and Patti Smith announced for Live At Chelsea 2027

Bananarama, Jack Savoretti and the Patti Smith Quartet are among the first acts to be announced for Live At Chelsea 2027.

The Venus group – who will be celebrating 40 years since the release of their album Wow – will be joined by fellow 80s favourites Jason Donovan and T’Pau when they take to the stage in the stunning outdoor setting of the Royal Hospital Chelsea on 11 June.

Singer/songwriter Jack will headline the following night, Saturday 12 June, and the event will close on 13 June with a performance from the Patti Smith Quartet. The 80-year-old singer will be joined by Tony Shanahan on bass and keyboards, Jackson Smith on guitar and Seb Rochford on drums.

Other acts, including those who will headline on 9 and 10 June, have yet to be announced.

A portion of proceeds from the concerts supports the ongoing care of the Chelsea Pensioners.

The Artist / Live At Chelsea Presale starts at 10am on Wednesday (07.10.26), ahead of the Priority Presale on Thursday (8.10.26) and a general sale on Friday (09.10.26). Visit LiveAtChelsea.com for more information.

Bananarama – made up of Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward – previously credited their huge 1980s popularity down to the fact

the group’s fans could relate to them and believed they could be like the singers.

Keren told Classic Pop magazine: “We didn’t know what we were doing, and also we weren’t styled. We didn’t have any expensive clothes, so you really could be like us.

“It was maybe the last time when you could totally find your own way. Now, of course, there are literally places like the Brit School where you can learn to be a pop star. It’s more slick and glossy.”

Keren explained how much of Bananarama’s work came from their working class background as the group – which also included former member Siobhan Fahey – moved from Bristol to London, where they were joined by many other acts from the era.

She said: “So much about Bananarama was from our working class backgrounds.

“We were singing about our experiences. Anyone could be a pop star at the time. Everyone else seemed like us, too: Boy George, Soft Cell, whoever, it didn’t matter where you were from or who you were.”
