Alex Warren blames his onstage farting on using his bum-thrusting to power his voice

Alex Warren has explained why he can’t stop farting onstage.

The Ordinary hitmaker often brings up his flatulence habit at his shows and it’s been getting worse lately.

As reported by the Daily Star, Alex explained the science behind his accidental stage “eruptions”, insisting it’s all part of singing properly.

He said: “I fart on stage a lot.

“When you sing, you’re clenching your butt – that’s where the power comes from. You’re thrusting, you’re walking, you’re clenching… something’s bound to move.”

He recently told a crowd: “I had lettuce on a burger the other day and now I can’t stop ripping ass. I apologise to these people because I fumigated your asses.”

The US star also joked that he “destroys” the stage on a regular basis, leaving his poor touring band to deal with the aftermath.

At another gig, he confessed: “I’m so sorry I just farted. I usually keep this to myself but we are so tight. I gave them a warning ahead of time. Usually, they don’t smell but I ate too much fibre.”

Last month, Alex was forced to pull the plug on his concert at Auckland’s Spark Arena due to illness.

The singer – who is nearing the end of his Finding Family on the Road World Tour and is flying high in the charts with his second studio album Wildchild – was left heartbroken after he was left “bedridden” and struggling to “talk let alone sing”.

In a social media statement, he said: “I never have to do this and it breaks my heart to even write this but I have to cancel tonight’s show.

“I have tried everything to be able to make this show work and I’m sadly bedridden sick at the moment. I can barely talk let alone sing and it sadly isn’t possible to play tonight’s show.

“I understand what it takes to be able to attend concerts and the fact so many of you travelled for this one has made this decision even more difficult. I love you so much and hope you understand.”

Promoter Frontier Touring wrote: “Alex is devastated to miss the show and has been looking forward to performing for his Auckland fans.

“He sincerely thanks fans for their understanding and support.”

Automatic refunds were given to ticketholders.
