Shania Twain has praised singer Ella Langley, calling her an “authentic songwriter”.
The country music star has enjoyed huge worldwide success with smash hit Choosin’ Texas, which topped both the US Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts.
Now, in a new interview with Rolling Stone, Ella has been praised by music veteran Shania, who praised her “authentic” sound.
Shania said: “I’ve never met Ella Langley, but just from what I’m observing, like all of us, she seems very authentic. She doesn’t come across to me as somebody that’s trying to be somebody else, or trying to write a song that, you know, is with an agenda. I see her as, like, an authentic songwriter.
“She sounds original. That’s already a bonus, right.”
The Man, I Feel Like a Woman star continued to compliment Ella’s “unapologetic” and “unique” sound.
Shania continued: “She does have a unique sound. So now we already can hear the difference, and she really does seem very unapologetic, and I think that commands respect. It really does.
“I’m not sorry that I’m a girl, and if I don’t make it, then I’m still gonna get up on stage and sing, and I sense that in her aura and her persona. And the way she delivers a song.
“She writes the songs. So, I think that also makes her more authentic. She means it. I believe her. I believe what she’s saying, I don’t think she’s just making up songs, I think she’s saying what she really thinks.”
Meanwhile, Ella has shown her love of Shania by covering her song You’re Still the One, and posted it on TikTok with the caption: “I’ll never get over this song.”
Shania herself commented on the video, writing: ““So flattered. Loved getting to connect at the American Country Music Awards.”
Ella previously told People that she is doing her best to enjoy her exponential rise to fame.
She said: “I think my whole life I’ve really dedicated it to this craft and doing this job. And now that I’m up here and experiencing this, I’m also excited about settling down one day and pursuing the human version of my life.”
