Sugababes want to team with PinkPantheress again

Sugababes hope to team up with PinkPantheress again following their collaboration on her remix album.

The Overload group – which currently comprises the original line-up of Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy – contributed lyrics for Nice to Know You + Sugababes, which also samples Spiral, a 2006 track by William Orbit which they featured on and they were so delighted with the track, they hope to work with her again.

Keisha told NME: “It was really cool, she sampled one of our songs from years ago, then we had the opportunity to kind of expand on that and write new verses and stuff, which we did.

“It was amazing, and congratulations to her [on reaching Number One in the US] because I believe that she’s amazing.

“It was so much fun working on it, and we’ve never met her before actually, so that would be quite cool if we could do that at some point this year.”

Nice to Know You + Sugababes appears on PinkPantheress’ 2025 remix album Fancy Some More?.

The group also teased there will “definitely be new music” from them this year, as well as “a few surprises in the pipeline.”

Earlier this week, the Weeds group performed at the Trans Mission concert – which worked to raise funds for the Good Law Project and transgender charity Not a Phase – alongside the likes of Adam Lambert, Wolf Alice, Beth Ditto, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Kate Nash, as well as speakers including Sir Ian McKellen, Munroe Bergdorf, Zack Polanski and Nicola Coughlan.

And Sugababes insisted it was a “no-brainer” for them to be involved because they are a “band that’s about unity”.

Siobhan said: “It was a no-brainer when we were asked to be involved in the show.

“It was an immediate yes, especially because it’s such a topical subject at the moment, and one that’s quite close to our hearts. Sugababes have always been a band that’s about unity, bringing people together and about being your authentic self, so we were a good fit.”

Keisha thinks it is important for people in the public eye to call out injustice.

She said: “That’s like the reason why we’re all here on the planet! The more popular you are, the more you should be using your voice to bring awareness to the injustice in the world. I think it’s pretty selfish if you don’t.

“There are many things that we stand beside, but love is the biggest thing that we want to put out. We want to just support people being their themselves.”
