Nick Jonas has kicked off 2026 with the release of his new single Gut Punch.
The track serves as the first preview of his upcoming solo album Sunday Best, which is scheduled to arrive on February 6, and marks his most personal project in years.
The song introduces the album’s introspective direction, opening with minimal piano and lyrics centred on self‑doubt before building into a bold, chant‑driven chorus. Jonas reflects on emotional strain and self‑criticism, delivering one of his most candid performances to date.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, Jonas explained that the song stems from a period of intense self‑reflection. He said he often questions whether he is living up to the standards he sets for himself, both personally and within his family life.
The Jealous hitmaker first introduced Gut Punch during his Las Vegas shows in November, gradually adding it to select tour dates in the weeks that followed. He also performed the track during the Jonas Brothers’ Samsung TV Plus New Year’s Eve event, giving fans an early look at the material he plans to explore on his new record.
Sunday Best will be Jonas’ first solo release in nearly five years and will act as the follow-up to 2012’s Spaceman.
