Biffy Clyro forced to postpone US tour due to major visa error

Biffy Clyro have postponed their US tour after “some f****** genius” made an error with their visa applications.

The Scottish rock band were due to kick off a string of intimate dates in the United States on December 2 in Los Angeles, but with days to go, frontman Simon Neil as admitted someone made a major mistake while applying for the documentation.

In an Instagram video, he told fans: “Some f****** genius put the wrong start date into our work visa, so when we received our visas in the last couple of days, we realised it doesn’t begin until after our tour is meant to finish.”

The Many of Horror hitmaker – who is one third of the band alongside twin brothers James and Ben Johnston, while they are joined by Mike Vennart and Richard Ingram on tour – insisted they have been trying anything they can to get the issue fixed.

He added: “We’ve been in touch with four or five immigration lawyers, we’ve been in touch with Congress.

“There’s f*** all any of them can do to help.”

Simon acknowledged fans will be frustrated after likely booking flights and accommodation for the gigs, while the band were excited to kick off the run in LA after previously cancelling a gig in the city due to COVID.

He continued: “We are so angry about this. Especially in LA, we had to cancel the show last time because I caught f****** COVID, and now we’re cancelling our first show in LA, which was meant to be special but of course not.

“So the tour is postponed. Sometimes I feel slightly cursed when it comes to Biffy touring America but we’re going to try and keep a little bit of faith.”

The band are looking to reschedule the dates for spring 2026, although refunds are available for anyone who doesn’t want to wait for the new gigs.

Simon said: “I completely understand if you want to get refunds and you’ve lost faith in us, I get it and I’d be f****** raging at us too.

“You can’t be any madder at us than I am… thanks for your time and sorry for f****** wasting it.”
