Rosalía announces fourth album LUX

Rosalía is set to release her fourth studio album, LUX, on November 7.

The 33-year-old Spanish singer has confirmed the release date for her follow-up 2022’s Motomami after teasing the record via billboards in locations including New York’s Times Square and Madrid.

At the time of writing, there is no track-listing.

Rosalía previously shared the subjects that she won’t be exploring on the new record.

She told ELLE: “The rhythm [of the music industry] is so fast. And the sacrifice, the price to pay, is so high. The driving force that leads you to continue making music, to continue creating, has to come from a place of purity.

“Motives like money, pleasure, power… I don’t feel that they are fertile. Nothing will come out of there that I’m really interested in. Those are subjects that don’t inspire me.”

The Grammy winner has also spoken about her growth and evolution since her last studio effort and noted that she has “changed a lot” since Motomami.

In a September 2024 interview with Highsnobiety magazine, she said: “It’s been a process. I’ve changed a lot, but at the same time, I’m still wrapping my head around the same things. It’s like I still have the same questions and the same desire to answer them. I still have the same love for the past and the same curiosity for the future.”

Motomami scooped Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the Grammys and a slew of Latin Grammys, including Album of the Year.

A deluxe edition of the album, titled Motomami +, was later released, featuring five additional tracks, including the hit single Despechá, which received a Cardi B-assisted remix.
