Britain’s Got Talent returning in autumn

‘Britain’s Got Talent’ is returning in autumn.

Simon Cowell’s popular ITV talent show was postponed earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but now the broadcaster has revealed plans for a comeback.

Production will resume with a one off catch up show to get viewers up to speed before the semi finals get underway.

These were originally set for spring but delayed due to the health crisis, but ITV has confirmed they will air weekly on a Saturday night during the autumn.

Boss Simon – who appears on the judging panel with David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden – previously hinted he wouldn’t want to film without an audience, after admitting he "wouldn’t want to do that again" following his ‘America’s Got Talent’ experience.

He said: "I wouldn’t want to do that again in the future. The expression, ‘The show must go on,’ to a point, we did as much as we could. And then after two days, we realised we had to finish."

‘The Voice UK’ will also be back on air with its own catch up show, alove with a semi final and live final with coaches will.i.am, Meghan Trainor, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs all back in their red chairs.

Meanwhile, ITV has revealed plans for ‘Soccer Aid’ to take place later in the year behind closed doors after it was postponed from June.

Also included in the lineup are the likes of ‘The Emily Atack Show’, ‘Celebrity Juice’, ‘Shopping With Keith Lemon’ and a return for ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ with a special 10th birthday reunion show and a series of 10 special programmes.

‘Love Island’ and ‘TOWIE’ star Olivia Attwood will take centre stage in ‘Olivia Meets Her Match’, Gemma Collins returns for another run of ‘Diva Forever’, and the ‘Real Housewives of Cheshire’ will be back for another series.

Talk show host Jonathan Ross will also be fronting a new late night comedy show called ‘Jonathan Ross’s Comedy Club’, which looks to fill the gap left with venues across the country currently closed due to the pandemic.
