Brooke Vincent hopes she’ll be back on ‘Coronation Street’ soon.
The 27-year-old actress has been taking time away from Weatherfield after giving birth to her son Mexx in October last year, and whilst she’s enjoying her time at home with her tot, she can’t wait to get back on set.
During an Instagram Q&A, Brooke was asked when she plans on returning to the ITV soap, and she responded: "I’m not too sure yet, as I didn’t take typical maternity. I’ve been on ‘Corrie’ since I was 11 so it’s nice to have some time to be with my new baby and in our new home before going back. Hopefully not too long though."
In the soap, Brooke’s character Sophie Webster is currently off on her travels with her ex Kate Connor (Faye Brookes) after girlfriend Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher) bought tickets for her.
However, Brooke won’t be able to return to ‘Corrie’ until production has started again, after the soap was forced to suspend filming as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Both ‘Corrie’ and fellow ITV soap ‘Emmerdale’ have stopped filming new episodes, and have cut their weekly transmissions from six to three in order to continue airing new content for longer.
But ITV boss Kevin Lygo recently admitted both soaps will run out of episodes in the coming weeks.
The Head of Studios confirmed that ‘Corrie’ has enough instalments to remain on air until the end of June.
The popular programmes were both forced to suspend filming in March and at the moment, it’s not yet clear when their casts will be able to return to their sets.
