ITV are "confident" they will be able to continue with their ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Emmerdale’ filming schedule amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The broadcaster have reassured fans they have put their contingency plans in place due to the pandemic, which has killed more than 6,500 worldwide, and are taking "appropriate steps".
They said: "Our priority is the well-being and safety of all our colleagues and everyone who works with us on our shows and across our production.
"Clearly, along with everyone across the country, we are in a developing and dynamic situation with respect to the coronavirus, so we’re taking the appropriate steps.
"We’ve looked at our procedures and our established contingency plans and we’re confident that we’re able to continue with our filming schedule."
ITV insist they are "keeping a close eye on the situation" and will support any of their colleagues affected.
They told Digital Spy: "In terms of our colleagues, our aim is to do everything we can to support anyone affected.
"We’re keeping a close eye on the situation and putting our people first."
Earlier this month, a ‘Coronation Street’ cast member was self-isolating over coronavirus concerns.
One of the cobbles actors, who has not been named, stayed away from Weatherfield "as a precaution" after returning from holiday, but they weren’t showing any symptoms of the virus.
A spokesperson said at the time: "The cast member concerned took the decision to self-isolate as a precaution.
"They haven’t been in to work and they are showing no symptoms."
‘Corrie’ insisted at the time the soap’s busy filming schedule has not been disrupted.
They added: "There has been no disruption to filming."
Symptoms of coronavirus include fever, cough and breathing difficulties.
