Dean Gaffney: Reality romance shows are fake

Dean Gaffney thinks reality romance shows are "fake".
The 42-year-old actor – who is best known for playing Robbie Jackson on ‘EastEnders’ – recently starred on ‘Celebs Go Dating’, but Dean insisted he isn’t a fan of reality romance programmes.
He said: "I went on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ to have a good time. At the end of the day it’s a job and a job pays money.
"But I think it’s really hard because obviously we go on dates for two hours and the show only depicts two minutes of that. You’re on a date with ten cameras in your face, it’s not easy."
Dean is also pleased that his 23-year-old twin daughters, Chloe and Charlotte, previously rejected the chance to appear on ‘Love Island’.
The soap star told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "They wouldn’t go on a reality show to find love. It would never happen.
"They have been offered ‘Love Island’ but they are private, which is nice.
"I think people who do go on a reality show to find love …  is it genuine? Are they really going to find love or are they going for Instagram followers?"
Prior to appearing on ‘Celebs Go Dating’, Dean admitted to being scared about starring on the show.
He said: "This will be the most open I have been on TV and that is what scares me.
"TV is changing. The only reality telly I have done is the jungle. I have always said you do your big hitters, but celebrity w****ng a pig off on the farm is not where I want to be.
"I don’t want to do that. I don’t need to be on TV. I don’t want to be famous – I just want to carry on acting and doing my craft."
