Rob Brydon gets mistaken for Ben Miller

Rob Brydon was once mistaken for Ben Miller by a London taxi driver who asked if people told him he looked like the ‘Gavin & Stacey’ actor.
The ‘Gavin and Stacey’ star recalled being puzzled when his cab driver began praising him for his performances in ‘Death In Paradise’, which Ben starred in as DI Richard Poole.
But he couldn’t help but have a wry smile when the cabby told him he must get mistaken for "that Welsh guy Rob Brydon".
In an interview with ES Magazine, ‘Holmes and Watson’ star said: "I got into a cab once and the guy thought I was Ben Miller. He started telling me how good he thought I was in Death In Paradise."
"He said, ‘I bet you get mistaken for that Welsh guy!’ I said, ‘What, Rob Brydon, now he is a funny guy’, and I swear to you he said, ‘Nah, I think he’s overrated.’ "
The 54-year-old also revealed that he turns to David Walliams when he wants to have fun, because "he knows all the best places".
When asked the person he would call, Rob said: "David Walliams because he knows all the best places – he really does know everywhere and everyone."
Brydon is famous for his impression of Sir Michael Caine in his TV show ‘The Trip’, in which he appears with Steve Coogan, and he thinks ‘The Italian Job’ actor is the most iconic living Londoner.
He said: "Michael Caine is the most iconic Londoner. Growing up, you would hear these stories of him in the Swinging Sixties – him and Terence Stamp going to Dougie Hayward for their suits and all that kind of stuff."
