Ex EastEnder Louise Jameson to direct Revenge

Former ‘EastEnders’ actress Louise Jameson is to direct theatre show ‘Revenge’.
The 68-year-old actress – who played Rosa di Marco in the BBC One soap from January 1998 until August 2000 – has been announced as the director of a new production of playwright Robin Hawdon’s thriller which will tour the UK.
‘Revenge’ will star Jonathan McGarrity as Bill Crayshaw, a politician who returns from a business trip to find his party agent has been killed. Kate Ashmead will portray journalist Mary Stewart who is determined to find out the truth about his death even though her motives are ambiguous.
The show will open at the Greenwich Theatre in London on 6 February before heading to Bracknell, Coventry, Stafford, the Isle of Wight, Andover, Boston, Southport, Darlington, Stevenage, Chelmsford, Windermere, Mansfield, Winchester, Taunton, Wimborne and Croydon.
The production is the latest challenge that Louise has taken on during her illustrious career.
In the 1970s, she became a household name when she played sexy warrior woman Leela, the companion of Tom Baker’s Fourth Doctor in BBC sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’ with the character still proving to be a fan favourite amongst Whovians now.
Once she was done with her trips in the TARDIS, Louise then landed the leading role of Blanche Simmons in the first two series of historical war drama ‘Tenko’, before starring for five years in ‘Bergerac’ as Susan Young, the girlfriend of Jim Bergerac.
Before heading to Albert Square, Louise portrayed Pandora’s mother Tania Braithwaite in both ‘The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4’ and ‘The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole’, which are based on the books by Sue Townsend.
More recently she has appeared in ‘Doctors’, ‘Holby City’ and ‘Doc Martin’.
