Roman Kemp hosting Craig David’s New Year’s special

Roman Kemp is hosting ‘Craig David Rocks Big Ben Live’.
The radio DJ and ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ finalist will help welcome in 2020 as part of BBC One’s New Year’s special, and he’s delighted to be sharing the stage with the ‘7 Days’ hitmaker as he performs.
He said: "I’m so excited to be back hosting NYE again. Standing beside the man I’ve listened to since I was 6 years old, Craig David!
"It’s always an amazing showcase, I truly can’t wait to see everyone there and bring in 2020."
Roman – who previously helmed the party in 2017 – will be co-hosting with Craig himself on the broadcast from Central Westminster Hall.
The 38-year-old singer will kick things off with his band before Big Ben strikes midnight and leads in London’s famous fireworks display over the River Thames.
Then, 2020 will kick off in style as Craig returns for one of his TS5 sets, and he previously promised viewers "a night to remember".
He said: "I can’t think of a better way to see in the New Year and new decade than performing and celebrating with you all. It’s going to be a night to remember!"
And Jan Younghusband, Head of BBC Music TV Commissioning, hailed Craig’s "blistering live sets" when the broadcaster confirmed the show last month.
She added: "Craig is famous for his blistering live sets, so I’m thrilled that he will be ringing in New Year by performing live for BBC One viewers."
