Christopher Biggins was paid 50k for I’m A Celebrity stint

Christopher Biggins was paid £50,000 to take part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
The 70-year-old star was named King of the Jungle in the seventh series in 2007, and he was left shocked when he heard reports that Caitlyn Jenner could be receiving half a million for this year’s series after he received £450,000 less.
He said: "I loved the fact that Ant and Dec made a reference to the £500,000, to get that out of the way.
"I don’t think it’s as much as that.
"But 12 years ago I got £50,000, which was not £500,000."
As a result, Biggins joked he is going to invoice ITV for more money.
He quipped: "I’m going to put a bill in today."
Despite having to kip outside on the Australian jungle-based show surrounded by creepy crawlies, Biggins insisted he had his best sleeps "ever" on the programme.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, he said: "That first night when you sleep there you think everything is going to crawl all over you.
"Once you get over that it’s fine.
"I slept the best I’ve ever slept."
Last week, Biggins revealed he advised Kate Garraway not to do ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
He said: "She came to me for some advice the last time I was on the programme [‘Good Morning Britain’].
"We discussed it and I rang her and we talked about it.
"I said, ‘Don’t do it.’ She was tempted, I think.
"But I think she’ll do very, very well."
While Biggins admits he has "no idea" who half of this year’s contestants are, he tipped Caitlyn to be a success on the show.
He said: "It’s an interesting line-up. Half the people I have no idea who they are, but that is the same with all these shows nowadays.
"But I do think Caitlyn Jenner is a very good booking. I think she’ll be terrific and really will put the cat among the pigeons."
