Bryan Adams unveils new album How’s It Goin’ as a personal love letter to Canada

Bryan Adams’ upcoming album is a heartfelt tribute to the country that made him.

The rock icon has announced How’s It Goin’, arriving November 6, and says the project is rooted in the people, landscapes and stories that define Canada.

The Ontario native came to write about his homeland after penning a track inspired by the nation’s east coast and it ended up taking him into new music territory sonically.

He explained in a statement: “The idea was simply to make a record about Canada.

“It started with writing the song for the documentary Canada’s Wild Eastern Edge and after doing so much research, I was inspired to start writing more songs about Canada. Musically it took me somewhere a little different too, which made the whole thing exciting.”

The 12‑track collection blends country, folk and rock, with the Summer of ’69 hitmaker exploring what he calls a “distinctly Canadian musical landscape” – cinematic in scope but intimate in storytelling. He digs into history, characters, and moments that shaped the nation, finding inspiration in both the familiar and the unexpected.

Among the songs are Diesel and Dirt, How’s It Goin’, Iron Ribbon, The Battle of Lundy’s Lane, 51st State and The Ballad of Terry Fox. The latter is one of the album’s most emotional moments, serving as Bryan’s tribute to the legendary Canadian athlete and humanitarian. The track will also appear in the upcoming documentary Run Terry Run.

At its core, Adams says the album is about home – the humour, resilience, vast landscapes and everyday stories that make Canada what it is. How’s It Goin’ marks the singer looking back at the country that shaped him while finding new ways to tell its stories.

The album will be released on CD and LP, with the vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves, obi and shrink wrap. A special A4 hardback book edition will also be available, featuring the CD, lyrics and images tied to the stories behind the songs.

The 66-year-old rocker hasn’t wasted any time – his last studio album only landed in 2025 with Roll with the Punches.
