Piers Morgan undergoes mystery hospital tests

Piers Morgan underwent "extensive hospital tests" on Friday (11.01.19) for a mystery illness.
The 53-year-old outspoken television presenter took to Twitter on Friday to reveal he had been hospitalised for an unknown reason, and said that after undergoing a series of tests, he had been told he is "not going to die".
Posting a picture of himself wearing a hospital gown and a nasal breathing tube, Piers wrote: "Bad news… after some extensive hospital tests this morning it appears I’m not going to die.
"I can only apologise for all the upset & offence I know this development will cause. (sic)"
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ host did not reveal why he was hospitalised, or what the tests involved, but his tweet comes after he was taken to hospital last month and diagnosed with bronchitis, laryngitis and sinusitis.
Piers had been told by Doctor Hilary Jones during an episode of ‘Good Morning Britain’ just hours before his December hospital visit that he was "over the worst" of his illness.
The following day, he said on the show: "Doctor Hilary yesterday diagnosed me and said, ‘Don’t worry you’re over the worst.’
"I ended up in hospital yesterday and got diagnosed with bronchitis, laryngitis and sinusitis.
"Thanks Hilary."
Piers had declared he was a "sweaty mess" and had chest pain and difficulties breathing, when show bosses called Hilary to assess Piers’ issues.
He groaned: "10 days into the cold I’ve come out with these terrible sweats all morning.
"Is it the expulsion of demons or could it be the beginning of the end?"
Hilary replied: "It’s run its course, you’ve been suffering from an upper respiratory tract infection.
"By soldiering on it probably kept the virus going a little bit. You are over the worst of it though.
"It doesn’t normally last several weeks, but at this time of year it’s not unusual."
