Emma Willis admits ‘reality is kicking in’ after Big Brother was axed

Emma Willis admits "reality is kicking in" after ‘Big Brother’ was cancelled earlier this year.
The 42-year-old TV presenter has confessed that she doesn’t have any projects in the works after Channel 5 axed the reality show and its spin-off show ‘Bit on the Side’, which was hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal.
Emma told The Sun newspaper: "Reality is kind of kicking in now. I read interviews with some people who say, ‘Oh, I’m in talks for something, but I can’t say anything,’ and I think, ‘Why don’t you just say no?!’
"So no, there’s nothing. I like to be busy, and it’s a long period of time that I don’t have anything booked in for right now – three months over the summer."
Emma subsequently explained that she was informed of the show being dropped just hours before the new series began and insisted it was impossible to "not feel sad".
She said: "How am I meant not to feel sad, walking out and trying to host a show I love, knowing that it’s done?
"They could’ve done it a week before so that we all had time to take it in, or a week after so it could bed in."
Emma added that she and fellow host Rylan experienced mixed emotions throughout the process, adding that the programme’s celebrity version "had more life in it".
She shared: "Through the series I went from being really angry to really sad, and Rylan went from sad to really angry, so we swapped emotions.
"I just thought there was more life in it, especially the celeb one, which was appointment to view."
