EastEnders’ Dean Gaffney wants Robbie Jackson romance

EastEnders’ Dean Gaffney wants Robbie Jackson to hook up with Honey Mitchell.
The 40-year-old actor is keen for his hapless alter-ego to find love again after he and ex-girlfriend Donna Yates (Lisa Hammond) split up over the summer, and he has set his sights on the Minute Mart employee (Emma Barton).
He said: "Honey is good, I think Honey’s a good character because she’s kind of ditzy, a bit like Robbie.
"It would work well, I think.
"He had a great time with Donna, obviously, and now she’s gone he’s kind of moping around the Square.
"It would be nice to get a bit of love back in his life."
However, Robbie would face stiff competition from dentist Adam Bateman (Stephen Rahman-Hughes), who is currently with Honey.
As well as hoping Robbie and Honey get with each other, Dean "wishes" his on-screen half-sister Patsy Palmer (Bianca Jackson) would return to the soap following such speculation, but he insists he wouldn’t go back to ‘EastEnders’ if he was living Stateside.
He added to Express.co.uk: "I think she’s living in America at the moment, in Miami or wherever it is, having a great time. I wouldn’t want to come back if I was in Miami!"
This comes just weeks after Dean admitted he fears being axed by new ‘EastEnders’ boss Kate Oates.
He said: "I think everyone’s a little worried. You wouldn’t be human if you were not worried when your contract comes up for renewal.
"It’s squeaky bum time for every actor as no one is bigger than the show. The Queen Vic and Albert Square, they are the show."
