Hurts plan to win Eurovision

Hurts have revealed they won’t be deterred from their plan to win the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’.
The British electro pop duo – formed in 2009 and made up of friends Adam Anderson and Theo Hutchcraft – have aspirations of giving the UK its first victory in the competition since Katrina and the Waves triumphed with ‘Love Shine A Light’ in 1997.
Speaking to The I Paper, the ‘Wonderful Life’ hitmakers – who have built a huge fan-base across Europe – pitched a song to the UK’s Eurovision selection committee, but withdrew it when it was suggested it should be performed by "an old legend or a reality TV star".
Hutchcraft said: " ‘We said, ‘No way, we’ve got this plan for how we’d win it’. So it all fell apart."
The duo have refused to name the song, as they still hope to find a way to represent the country in the singing competition.
They’re preparing for a 29-date European tour, with only two of those dates in the UK.
Although the musicians are delighted with their success across the continent, they have hit out at the idea of simply being "big in Europe".
Hutchcraft added: "It’s hard to explain to UK media that Poland and Germany aren’t the same place.
"Finland and Russia aren’t the same place. They’ve got their own tastes and styles. So you just can’t answer the question we often get asked, ‘Why are you big in Europe?’"
