Simon Cowell wants to give power back to judges on Britain’s Got Talent

Simon Cowell wants to give the power back to the judges on next year’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
This year, the top semi-finalists were voted through to the final by the public, which was a change from previous years where the judges chose the second act to send through, and now the 57-year-old music mogul wants to give back the power to the judges.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Simon said: "I don’t know who made the decision about the judges not have the casting vote.
"I do think it will be the last time we do it as I do think we had some say in the first stage and I think you have to be consistent. It is always worth trying new things but next year we will probably go back to what we normally do."
This year, pianist Tokio Myers beat eight-year-old magician Issy Simpson to scoop the £250,000 prize and a chance to perform at The Royal Variety Performance.
Speaking about Tokio’s win, Simon added: "As a talent, as a person, Tokio right now, this was the most important thing for him. I’m thrilled for him."
Simon is joined on the show by fellow judges Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden, who said Tokio’s win was "as cool as when Diversity won".
Comedian Daliso Chaponda placed third whilst the judges’ wildcard and Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer act Sarah Ikumu finished at number seven behind Matt Edwards, The Pensionalities and Kyle Tomlinson.
