Jay-Z celebrates Beyonce’s birthday at London show

Jay-Z celebrated Beyoncé’s birthday with fireworks and a singalong on the opening night of his London tour.

The 56-year-old rapper – who tied the knot with the Cowboy Carter singer in 2008 – gave Beyoncé a shoutout from the stage at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as she celebrated her 45th birthday on Friday (04.09.26).

After Jay-Z took a brief break in his set to pay tribute to Beyoncé, who was in attendance, a spectacular burst of fireworks erupted around the stadium.

Beyoncé – who was in a VIP box suite with friends – appeared on the large screen as Jay-Z and the crowd serenaded her with Happy Birthday.

Beyoncé, wearing a casual hoodie, blew kisses to the crowd and waved to fans and could be seeing mouthing the words “Oh my God”.

Meanwhile, Sir Idris Elba opened the show with his intro which famously opened Jay-Z’s 2007 American Gangster album.

Jay then transitioned into Pray before performing BAM, Beach Is Better, and On To The Next One.

DJ Khaled appeared on stage for God Did and Giggs performed his breakout hit Talking The Hardest.

Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean of The Fugees surprised the crowd with classic hits Ready Or Not, Killing Me Softly and Fu-Gee-La.

Jay-Z then performed some of his other iconic tracks including Jigga What, Jigga Who, Run This Town, Hard Knock Life, and more. He closed out the evening with Numb/Encore.

Stars including Sir David Beckham, Cynthia Erivo, Michael B Jordan, Jordan Dunn, Olivia Dean, Rick Rubin, Thomas Tuchel, Dave, Viddal Riley, AJ Odudu and Kano were among the guests spotted at the sold out show, celebrating 30 years since the release of his classic debut album, Reasonable Doubt.
