Liam Payne signed to Capitol Records in the UK in July.
The 23-year-old One Direction singer was thrilled to join the roster of artists – which includes Sir Paul McCartney and Sam Smith to name a few – but has set his sights on breaking into the US as a solo artist.
However, Liam said that the boy band – also comprised of Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson – will always be ‘family’.
