Sir Cliff Richard announces tour

Sir Cliff Richard has announced a UK tour for 2017.
The 76-year-old singer will play a series of all-seated outdoor gigs in castles and historic locations next summer, in support of his 102nd album, ‘Fabulous Rock n Roll’.
The tour kicks off on June 17 at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire, and calls at a further seven venues before he ends the run of shows with two nights at Greenwich’s Old Royal Naval College in London on July 1 and 2.
Support acts for the concerts will be announced at a later date.
Tickets go on sale on 14 November.
Cliff recently admitted he is keen to play Glastonbury, though as his tour falls while the world-famous festival takes place, that seems unlikely to happen next year.
He said: "[The tour concerts] are like festival shows; open air concerts.
"We’re doing two in Denmark, one in Ireland and nine in Britain.
"If they invited me to Glastonbury I would seriously think about doing it. Then I’d either plan a tour to start there or end there. It would be great."
However, the ‘Summer Holiday’ actor has revealed he wouldn’t want to camp because he doesn’t like to get dirty and covered in mud.
He explained: "Camping’s not for me. I’m too old for that – I wouldn’t want to get dirty."
But the veteran musician has admitted he has "admiration" for all of the concert-goers who embrace the weather conditions and the lack of showers and washing facilities to watch the acts regardless of who is performing.
He said: "I have admiration for all those folk that go. Apparently there have only been seven years when it didn’t rain.
"They seem to have great fun all sloshing about in the mud. It doesn’t even matter what bands are there – although they love their bands – it could be anybody playing.
"They’re just there having a good time. It’s wonderful to see."

Sir Cliff Richard’s ‘Just Fabulous Rock n Roll’ 2017 tour dates:

June:
Saturday 17th Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire
Sunday 18th Stansted Park, Hampshire
Wednesday 21st Walcot Hall, Shropshire
