Angus T. Jones got miserable on Two and a Half Men

Angus T. Jones admits he got "pretty doomsday" with his way of thinking when he was shooting ‘Two and a Half Men’.
The 23-year-old actor was catapulted to fame as a child star when he appeared as young Jake Harper in the sitcom along with Jon Cryer as Dr. Alan Harper and Charlie Sheen as Charlie Harper.
Jones has admitted he began to really feel the pressures of being a celebrity when he started to think that everything he did would set off "a land mine", but now the show is over he feels more comfortable as a person.
Speaking to the new issue of People magazine, he said: "I got pretty doomsday with my thinking for a long time, but now I’m having fun and enjoying where I’m at. I no longer feel like every step I take is on a land mine."
Angus’ role on the show – which eventually saw Charlie’s character killed off and replaced by Ashton Kutcher as billionaire Walden Schmidt – at one stage earned him $300,000 per episode, but he sparked massive controversy when he appeared in a video describing the show as "filth" and telling viewers to stop watching.
He said in the video: "I’m on ‘Two and a Half Men’, and I don’t want to be. You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that."
He later apologised for the comments made in the video, but quit the show in order to pursue a college degree at the University of Colorado.
Jones admits the normality of going to college was something he now realises he was craving as a person but he isn’t done with acting yet.
He said: "I was very confident at that time. Going to college was something I was really, really excited about. [I had] a normal existence. I wasn’t the centre of everyone’s attention, and that was nice. If you’d asked me a few years ago if I wanted to get back involved in the industry, I would have said, ‘No. Not at all.’ "
For now, Jones is "on a break" from his school studies, though he still plans to obtain his degree eventually. Now, he lives in LA where he can enjoy spending time with his family.
