Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal ‘doing fine’ after bladder cancer returns

Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal is "all fine" after undergoing treatment for bladder cancer.
The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist – who played in the ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ band from 2006 to 2014 – has revealed his cancer returned last month and he underwent treatment to remove two tumours from his bladder.
Bumblefoot also spoke of how medical staff didn’t think anything was wrong with him at first and simply told him he was "getting older".
He explained: "I would go to different doctors and I would say, ‘This ain’t normal. They’d say, ‘Oh you’re just getting older, it’s your prostrate.’ I’ve never heard of anyone hitting 40 and p***ing blood. Everyone just kept writing me off."
He also went to desperate measures and recorded a video of himself peeing to show doctors there was a problem.
He told Loudwire: "I made a video to show the doctors what was going on. I kept the video as a reminder to not let things go. I’m glad I did."
The 46-year-old rocker will have to have regular check ups going forward, but he’s positive about his future.
He said: "It’s how you take care of yourself that makes a big difference on how these things hit you. I try really hard to be happy. There are worse things out there.
"I’m happy to be making music, to be doing what I set out to do 40 years ago with great people, for great people.
"It doesn’t matter if you’re sick or well, as long as you’re happy and living well, that’s all that matters."
Bumblefoot was first diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2014.
