Cara Delevingne backs equal pay for actresses

Cara Delevingne is backing equal pay for Hollywood actresses.
Although the 23-year-old model-turned-actress loves acting so much she says she would do it for free, Cara has insisted she gets paid the same as her male co-stars, who have equal billing, because she wants to stand up for other female stars.
She explained: "I’m still learning. I act for love. I give it my all. I would probably still do it even if I wasn’t paid at all.
"But in terms of equal pay I need to be paid the same as the guy who has equal billing with me. Otherwise I won’t do it. Because if you accept less, you’re just letting everyone else down and continuing the cycle."
Although Cara’s move from fashion into film has been a huge success, winning praise for her work in movies including ‘Paper Towns’, she admitted she still worries about her acting ability.
She told British Vogue: "My greatest fear is always that I have just been hired because of my number of followers."
‘Suicide Squad’ star Cara is not the only actress to speak out about equal pay after Jennifer Lawrence wrote a powerful essay on gender inequality in Hollywood for Lena Dunham’s Lenny newsletter.
Speaking about the essay, Cate Blanchett previously said: "I thought it was fantastic. I thought it was timely, brave, and necessary.
"I applaud her for saying that because, forget the film industry for a second, it encourages women in other industries to say, ‘You know what, I’m not receiving equal pay for equal work here.’
"You’re not saying, ‘I want to be paid squillions of dollars’. That’s not her point.
"Her point is, I’m drawing lots of audiences to this film, as much as the men. We’re all doing equal work.
"It’s a basic, basic thing."
