Charlie Brooks hasn’t ruled out a return to ‘EastEnders’.
The 32-year-old actress, whose treacherous character Janine Butcher is set to exit the show soon, has revealed she can’t bear the thought of never playing the legendary villain and could see herself returning to Walford in future.
Charlie said: "I’ve loved my time on the show and I would hate to think that I might never get to play Janine again. However, it’s time for a new challenge in my life."
Janine is currently on trial for murdering her husband Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) and Charlie says her alter-ego is doing everything she can to ensure she isn’t found guilty.
She told Soaplife magazine: "She’ll fight tooth and nail to stay out of prison and won’t even consider that she might be found guilty. If she is found guilty, it will knock her for six. She’s used to getting away with things."
Charlie admits she would love to see Janine – who previously murdered first husband Barry Evans – get away with murder a second time.
She added: "I’d like her to get away with it because I think deep down she is a good person. She did only kill Michael in self-defence after all."
