Meghan Trainor wants to date an older man.
The 22-year-old singer is hoping to romance someone who is at least 13 years older than her in the future because she’s fed up of falling for people who have "child-like brains."
She told Billboard magazine: "I tried to have a fling with a 29 year old, and I thought that was old. It was very much like a little boy in the brain. So I’m looking [at] 35 and up."
However, it seems Meghan’s relationship requirements are getting harder by the day as she recently revealed her mother has banned her from dating anyone but a movie star.
She said previously: "I haven’t had a relationship since I was 18. I’m very down for it I just haven’t met the right guy. My mum said, ‘You’ve got to date a movie star or something.’ "
But her mum isn’t the only thing blocking her from finding love as the ‘All About That Bass’ hitmaker believes a lot of men are put off by her demanding career and level of fame.
She explained: "I find with guys I’ve had crushes on, it’s all over within a week. We’ll put an Instagram picture up together and they’ll get attacked by people online. I say, ‘I’m sorry I didn’t tell them to attack you’. But, also, it’s too hard to see someone romantically as I feel like I’m always working."
And Meghan doesn’t think she’ll be able to find someone the traditional way because she’s always surrounded by guards.
She added: "I don’t have guys coming up to me in the clubs, but I guess it’s because I’m surrounded by my team."
