Zayn Malik records song for Ghostbuters film

Zayn Malik has recorded a song for the soundtrack of the new ‘Ghostbusters’ movie.
The former One Direction star has contributed brand new track ‘wHo’ to the re-booted franchise which stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as the anti-supernatural squad.
The song does not appear on the 23-year-old singer’s debut solo album ‘Mind of Mine’.
Zayn, 23, is joining the likes of Elle King, Mark Ronson and Wolf Alice on the soundtrack to the hotly anticipated comedy.
Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliot have teamed up for ‘Ghostbusters (I’m Not Afraid)’, and the lead single will be Elle King’s ‘Good Girls’.
The soundtrack also features a few classic tunes as well as the new cuts. Ray Parker Jr’s memorable theme tune from the original 1984 film is included as well as DeBarge’s ‘Rhythm of the Night’ and DMX’s ‘Party Up (Party Up In Here)’.
The soundtrack will be released on July 15, through RCA Records, on the same day the film hits cinemas.
The lead up to the movies release has been mired in some controversy, as some have criticised the decision to go with an all-female ghostbusting squad.
But director Paul Feig has hit back at critics, saying: "We still get called in the press as a ‘chick flick.’ We are always referred to as ‘the all-female ‘Ghostbusters’. It’s just an uphill battle and I can’t believe we are having to deal with it … There were a bunch of people that were angry that there was a reboot."
