Liam Payne praises amazing Cheryl Fernandez-Versini

Liam Payne thinks Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is "amazing".
The couple – who have been dating for three months – made their red carpet debut together at the Global Gift Gala in Paris, France, last week when the ‘Only Human’ singer received the Global Gift Philanthropist Award and the One Direction hunk couldn’t be more proud of his 32-year-old girlfriend.
He told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: "It’s her night and I’m very proud of her. She’s amazing."
Meanwhile, Cheryl – who split from second husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini last December after just over a year of marriage – is smitten with the 22-year-old pop star.
Asked how her relationship is going, she smiled and said: "I am just very happy."
The couple have recently enjoyed some time out in America and Cheryl has been having a particularly relaxed break.
She said: "I’ve been going to a few concerts, playing on the X-box and eating a few cheeseburgers."
The former ‘X Factor’ judge received the award in recognition of the work done by her Cheryl’s Trust foundation, which supports the needs of disadvantaged young people across the UK, and admits she set up the charity because she knows she was "lucky" to escape her own background.
She said: "I had a strong urge to do something and give back when I had reached a level of success.
"I realised how lucky I was to get out of the circumstances in which I was living – but for the people living there now, the opportunities are so limited.
"The unemployment rate in Newcastle, where I came from, is the worst in the country and young people are falling into drugs and alcohol. That makes me so sad.
"I have been an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust for 10 years and we do things in a similar way."
