Calvin Harris was ‘nervous’ to play Rihanna This is What You Came For

Calvin Harris was very "nervous" when he first played the finished version of song ‘This is What You Came For’ to Rihanna.
The 32-year-old DJ and the 28-year-old singer – who previously worked on the song ‘We Found Love’ together in 2011 – dropped their new collaboration on UK station BBC Radio 1 on Friday morning (29.04.16) and Calvin has confessed he was very apprehensive when he debuted the track to Rihanna backstage at Coachella less than two weeks ago.
Speaking to DJ Nick Grimshaw, he recalled: "I played it to her for the first time at Coachella. I was in her trailer. It was me, her and her manager. She was like ‘this is sick’. It was the first time anything like that has happened to me.
"I was nervous. I had changed so many things musically, and she loved it. I’ll never forget it."
Calvin – who is in a relationship with Taylor Swift – admits the ‘Work’ hitmaker is one of his favourite artists to collaborate with because she has such an "iconic voice" and is a unique talent.
He said: "She’s got that iconic voice, hasn’t she? The first time I heard her sing We Found Love, I thought it couldn’t get any better than this. Her voice is out of control, how distinct it is. There’s no one like her."
Remembering their live performance of ‘We Found Love’ at Coachella, he added: "She was super fun. She was on a completely different vibe. It was awesome. She’s a lot of fun."
