Travis make Beyoncé-style visual album

Travis have made a Beyoncé-style visual album.
The indie rockers release their new LP ‘Everything At Once’ on Friday (29.04.16 and instead of shooting conventional videos for their singles they decided to make one film to accompany all their tracks which can be broken down into different promos for individual songs.
The concept is similar to what Beyoncé has done for her ‘Lemonade’ LP, which dropped last weekend with an accompany hour-long film.
Frontman Fran Healy directed the film and he believes he has captured the group’s "special" bond and vibe.
Speaking at gig to launch their new album at the Hippodrome in Kingston in south west London on Thursday night (28.04.16), said: "We made this movie which is really cool. You know we make our own movies, you’ve seen them, we’ve sort of set a precedent with them. Our record company told us you’ve got five singles, we were thinking, ‘That means we’ve got to make five videos! And I thought, ‘Let’s just make a film that goes with the whole album and then we can pull videos out of it.’ So that’s what we did. It turned out so cool, honest to god it’s mega. I directed it so I was thinking, ‘This is going to be s**t in a can.’ But it’s not s**t in a can, it’s so good. We’ve always got in great video directors to make videos for us but they’re always outside of the band. I’ve never seen us live, I’ve never been able to be there. But there’s something about our band which is above and beyond the music, and it’s a nice something. I think it’s the fact we’ve been together as friends longer than we’ve been in a band. We’ve been mates for 26 years. It’s a big deal.
This film that we made has that thing as well, which is dead hard to capture because it’s invisible. I don’t know what it is, but I suppose it’s energy, it’s a vibe."
Fran, 42, and his bandmates – Andy Dunlop, Dougie Payne and
Neil Primrose – spent most of last year working on their eighth studio album and he believes the songwriting process is as close as men can come to "giving birth" to "babies".
The Scottish singer said: "We’ve got a new album and we’re psyched, we’ve been sitting on it for too long … With our songs we always talk about babies. I think it’s as close as guys can get to doing it, giving birth – although it’s obviously not as painful ladies. "Buts it’s hard. We bring these songs into the world and nurture them. Then we want people to give them space and a chance to breathe."
Travis played several songs for their album, including ‘3 Miles High’, ‘Animals’ and ‘Paralysed’ and a host of hits such as ‘Driftwood’, ‘Flowers in the Window’, ‘Sing’, ‘Writing to Reach You’ and ‘Why Does It Always Rain On Me?’.
Travis closed their intimate set in front of just a few hundred people with a storming rendition of ‘Turn’ from their 1999 album ‘The Man Who’.
At one point during the gig, the band even played an impromptu version of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Happy Birthday’ to wish one fan a happy birthday.
‘Everything At Once’ Is available to buy, download and stream now.
