Meghan Trainor offers song to Rita Ora

Meghan Trainor has offered Rita Ora her song ‘Sugar Daddy’ for her second album.
The ‘All About That Bass’ hitmaker made the track when she was a teenager and never imagined the 25-year-old pop beauty would fall in love with it six years later.
Meghan’s now waiting to see if Rita will use it for the final cut of her much-delayed follow-up to her 2012 debut LP ‘Ora’.
Meghan told The Sun newspaper: "I’m constantly trying to get a cut with Rita Ora. Because I’m friends with her, I’m like, ‘Do you like this one?’ I have so many extra songs in the catalogue.
"She likes this one I did called ‘Sugar Daddy’. I wrote it when I was so young. I was 16 and I didn’t even understand the concept.
"But I sung her this hook and she was like, ‘I like that!’ It came out great and her voice sounded so cool on it."
The ‘Body On Me’ hitmaker is keeping details of her record under wraps and it could be some time before it comes out as she’s currently embroiled in a legal battle with her label Roc Nation – run by her one-time mentor Jay Z – and is trying to free herself from her contract.
As for Meghan, her second album ‘Thank You’ is set for release on May 13, and she’s teased it will have a "Caribbean" feel to it.
The 22-year-old songstress has also revealed will.i.am is keen to get in the studio with her and they discussed a collaboration after she performed on the final of ‘The Voice’ at the weekend, something she is very excited about as she’s a big Black Eyed Peas fan.
She said: "After I performed he said, ‘When are we going work together?’ And I was like, ‘Oh my god!’ My dreams are coming true.
"I was a little fan girl. I love his songwriting and his producing.
"I told him, ‘I’ll get your info.’ I want this so bad. I’ll do anything."
