Union J’s Josh Cuthbert would’ve auditioned for The Voice

Union J’s Josh Cuthbert would have tried out for ‘The Voice’ if he hadn’t made it on ‘The X Factor’.

The 21-year-old heartthrob first auditioned for the ITV talent show on his own in 2007 and later with Union J – which also includes Jaymi Hensley, George Shelley and JJ Hamblett – in 2012, but Josh claims he would’ve gone to rival singing competition ‘The Voice’ if he was turned away by the ‘X Factor’ judges.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz prior to Union J’s live set at M&M’s World in London’s Leicester Square yesterday (06.03.14), he said: "I would have just kept trying and would’ve done it through any avenue possible. So yeah, I probably would have gone on ‘The Voice’ or something like that, but I’m glad we managed to make it through ‘X Factor’."

The ‘Carry You’ hitmakers performed a number of tracks from their self-titled debut – including ‘Beautiful Life’ and ‘Loving You Is Easy’ – for an exclusive crowd to celebrate the launch of the store’s new personalised printer service, and Josh admitted that he thinks they all get equal attention from their female fans.

He said: "I think because we’re all quite different … there’s not one of us that gets more attention than the others, because we all appeal to different people."
