Prince Philip was a fan of George Cole’s humour

Britain’s Prince Philip laughed so much watching George Cole recording ‘The Good Life’ the Queen poked him.

As the funeral of the 90-year-old actor – most known for playing Arthur Daley in ‘Minder’ – takes place at Reading Crematorium, a source has shared a memory of George when Britain’s Queen Elizabeth was forced to get Prince Philip to stop laughing so "raucously" and even apologised to other people watching behind them.

A source told the Daily Mail: "He [Prince Philip] laughed so raucously throughout the recording that it caused HM to poke him in the ribs, apologising to those sitting behind."

The Queen had been invited to attend the live recording of the BBC sitcom in 1978.

George received an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to drama in 1992.

Many stars have paid tribute to the TV veteran since his death on (05.08.15).

His former co-star Dennis Waterman lead the tributes.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I’m so grateful to have been a friend of this wonderful man. We worked together for many years and my boast is that we laughed all day, every day.

"I am so sad to hear of George’s death. His family must be devastated, and I am absolutely certain that anybody who ever knew him, will feel the same.

"He was an amazing man, a wonderful actor and besotted with his family. Farewell old friend."
