Little Mix perform hit-packed set at MTV Crashes Plymouth

Little Mix performed a hit-packed set at MTV Crashes Plymouth on Wednesday (22.07.15).

The chart-topping quartet were the first act to take to the stage at the special event in the coastal city where they delivered a standout performance to the 35,000 fans who were lucky enough to secure a ticket to the sold-out show.

Kicking off with the title track from their second studio album, ‘Salute’, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall strutted onto the stage along with four male backing dancers and showed off their slickly choreographed, high-energy dance routines.

During their 40 minute set, the stars cemented themselves as one of the world’s top girl groups with a flurry of hits including ‘Move’, ‘DNA’, ‘Wings’ and an acoustic rendition of their 2012 hit ‘How Ya Doin’?’ before ending on the first single from their eagerly anticipated third record ‘Get Weird’, ‘Black Magic’, which is currently sitting at the top of the UK singles charts.

However, the spectacular performance wasn’t the only treat for the Devon crowd, with Kodaline adding a more guitar-driven dimension to the evening with tracks such as ‘High Hopes’ and ‘All I Want’ before solo singer Foxes raised the pace with her divine pop melodies which got people jumping and singing along.

But it was headliner Tinie Tempah who gained some of the biggest cheers, despite admitting earlier in the evening he had been feeling under the weather.

The 26-year-old rapper took to the stage in matching black and white checked jacket and shorts to whip the crowd into an excited frenzy with his infectious choruses to tracks including ‘Written in the Stars’, ‘Frisky’ and ‘Pass Out’.

Unfortunately his recent collaborator Jess Glynne was unable to join him on stage having recently undergone surgery on her vocal cords, but Tinie rounded off the evening in style by bringing out rising star Sasha Keable to sing with him on his latest crowd pleaser, ‘Not Letting Go’.

‘MTV Crashes Plymouth’ premieres on Friday August 7 at 9pm on MTV Music.
