Poppy Delevingne for Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur

Poppy Delevingne has landed a role in ‘Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur’.

The older sister of model and actress Cara Delevingne has reportedly been cast in the Warner Bros. movie, which is being directed by Guy Ritchie, alongside A-list stars Charlie Hunnam, who will play King Arthur, and Jude Law.

A source confirmed: "It’s a massive role for Poppy. She’s becoming as popular as Cara — this will be her breakthrough role."

The 28-year-old beauty will reportedly appear as the mother of King Arthur, named Igraine, who will have an on-screen romance with Uther Pendragon, played by Eric Bana.

The star-studded movie is set to be released next summer after it began shooting last month, and Poppy is "thrilled" to have landed the role, having longed to follow in her sibling’s footsteps into film for a "while".

The movie insider told The Sun newspaper: "It’s a big opportunity for Poppy and she’s thrilled to have proved her worth on her own merit.

"She’s not just about fashion and she’s longed for a blockbuster role for a while now."

Her 22-year-old sister Cara gained a major role in ‘The Face of an Angel’ last year and has since secured several parts in ‘Pan’, ‘Suicide Squad’ and ‘Paper Towns’, although the source insisted it was Poppy’s talent which won her the part, and not her family relations.

They added: "Guy thought she was right for the part from the get go apparently. She’s got the right look and he knew she was a proper grafter."
