Jennifer Lopez loves romantic comedies.
The ‘Out of Sight’ actress much prefers "silly" fun movies to serious dramas because they appeal to the "hopeless romantic" in her.
Asked whether she prefers drama or comedy, she said: "I prefer romantic comedies.
"They’re just fun! That’s a fun set. You’re just seeing how silly you can make things, and they’re romantic, and I’m a hopeless romantic as well. I really enjoy doing that type of stuff."
The three-times married actress – who has seven-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony – tries to root all her acting emotions in "the reality" and can even impress herself with her responses.
She said: "As far as a type, being more dramatic or being more tough or being more vulnerable… it’s all about trying to find the reality.
"I’m constantly reminding myself, ‘OK, your best friend just died. If you walked in and saw this, what would it be like?’ And all of a sudden, I have this high-pitched scream I’ve never heard myself do. That’s when I know I’m tapping into something real."
And when it comes to sex scenes, the 42-year-old star tries to keep things as natural as possible.
She told Loaded magazine: "Our job is to make everything look natural.
"It’s a very vulnerable position to be in. It’s not something you ever get used to as an actress. If that moment wasn’t intense, passionate and real enough, then the movie doesn’t make any sense."
