Guardians of the Galaxy up for seven MTV Movie Awards


‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ and ‘Neighbors’ lead the 2015 MTV Movie Awards nominations with seven nods each.

The superhero film has received a nod for the coveted Movie of the Year as well as nominations for Chris Pratt for a host of accolades, including Best Male Performance, Best Shirtless Performance and Best Comedic Performance for his portrayal of Star-Lord.

‘The Fault in Our Stars’ Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort are jointly nominated for Best Duo as well as Best Kiss, while ‘Neighbors’ stars Seth Rogen and Zac Efron were handed a nod for Best Fight.

’22 Jump Street’ and ‘Whiplash’ received five nominations each, whilst ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1’ and ‘Gone Girl’ received four apiece.

In the Best Male Performance category, Bradley Cooper will go head-to-head with Chris Pratt, Ansel, Miles Teller and Channing Tatum. The Best Female Performance category will be contested by Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Shailene, Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson.

The MTV Movie Awards take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday April 13 and Amy Schumer will host the ceremony.

Fans are able to cast their votes for their favourites now through until Saturday April 11. The voting for the prestigious Movie of the Year award will continue during the show’s live broadcast.
