Michael Keaton has been "flooded" with offers since awards season.
The 63-year-old actor – who picked up Best Actor at the Golden Globe and Independent Spirit awards and was nominated for a string of other prizes thanks to his role in ‘Birdman’ – has his pick of projects but the first one he will take on is ‘The Founder’, the story of McDonald’s franchising agent Ray Kroc and how he created the billion-dollar empire.
And as well as the biopic – which John Lee Hancock will direct – the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column reports he is also looking at a script with "an Oscar winner from last Sunday", and discussing a lead role in ‘Kong: Skull Island’ opposite J.K. Simmons.
Ahead of starting any new pictures, Michael next will work on animated adventure ‘Minions’ and recently completed filming on ‘Spotlight’, a tale of the Catholic Church sex scandal in which he appears with Liev Schreiber, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel McAdams.
‘Birdman’ cost just $18 million to make and Michael recently joked he was looking forward to a substantial pay day from his next projects.
He quipped: "I am actually looking forward to getting a cheque."
