Zoe Saldana has given birth to her twins.
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star and her husband, artist Marco Perego, welcomed their first children into the world on Monday (08.12.14) and they are both "ecstatic" with the arrival of the babies.
A friend of the actress told the Mirror.co.uk website: "Zoe and Marco are delighted, Zoe has been ready to drop for some time and they are both ecstatic to be meeting the twins.
"This a dream come true for both of them, they are absolutely delighted. They have been looking forward this day for the last nine months. Both want a big family so this is the start."
No other details about the birth of the babies was available at the time of writing.
Zoe revealed she was expecting in July but it was her friend Britney Spears – whom she starred with in 2002 film ‘Crossroads’ – who let slip she was having twins.
The 36-year-old actress – who secretly married Marco in London in 2013 – previously insisted she would not be rushing back to work after having her children and wants to enjoy spending time with them as babies.
She said: "I know that we will work everything out. I have to say, I’m very lucky … I’ve gotten nothing but support … I’m not going to rip my child off my t*t to go work. And if I do that, then maybe you shouldn’t hire me because I am willing to sell anything.
She added: "It’s nature! Like, you just cannot do it. What kind of mother would I be? There’s no choice. It’s like, ‘What, you want me to leave my newborn so that I can work 16 hours on your set? He’s only a month old, are you out of your mind?’ And the good thing is that half of the people you work with are all parents, and they get it."
