Zayn Malik: I want to visit Louis and his son Freddie

Zayn Malik wants to visit Louis Tomlinson and his new son Freddie.

The ‘Pillow Talk’ singer’s former One Direction bandmate became a father last week and although the former friends currently have a frosty relationship Zayn made sure he favourited a picture of Louis holding his baby which he posted online this week.

Zayn hopes he gets an "invite" to go and see Louis and the tot – whose mother is Briana Jungwirth – and that the pair can be pals again.

Speaking to radio DJ Dave Berry on the Capital London Breakfast Show, he said: "We’ll see if I get an invite. Obviously I wish him the best of luck. His kid is cute as f**k so obviously I favourited it. We’re not talking on friend terms obviously, so that’s as far as I can go, by favouriting his picture."

And fans will be hoping Louis, 24, reaches out to Zayn since he is currently renting two houses in Los Angeles to be close to his baby son and Briana, while Zayn – who is dating model Gigi Hadid – moved to the American city last year when he began working on his solo material.

During the interview, Zayn was also quizzed by Dave on how his attempts to live as a normal 22 year old – the reason he gave for his decision to quit 1D last year – were working out.

The pop heartthrob admitted being ‘normal’ didn’t go too well.

Zayn – who was also joined in the boy band by Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Liam Payne – revealed: "It worked out for about 2 weeks and I got bored of it. I don’t think I could ever go back to being completely normal. I guess that’s something I accepted, that this is as normal as it gets for me. I just want to make music that I believe in and music that I stand for."
