Zara Tindall’s husband felt ‘helpless’ during miscarriages

Zara Tindall’s husband felt "helpless" when she suffered her two miscarriages.
The 37-year-old royal revealed last year that she and Mike, who have daughters four-year-old Mia and two-month-old Lena together, had tragically lost two of their babies before they reached 24 weeks gestation and she has admitted watching her spouse go through it was unbearable because there was nothing he could do to help her.
Speaking on ‘BBC Breakfast’ on Friday (07.09.18), Zara – the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip – recalled as she held back the tears: "It’s very different for us because we’re carrying the child, but for guys I guess it’s kind of that helpless feeling, which must be incredibly hard and horrible for them. At the end of the day they’ve still lost a child too. Being helpless is horrible isn’t it.. for anyone. So.. you know, he’s… it’s been a horrible road but, you know, actually now we’ve come out the end of it, hopefully it makes you a stronger family."
Zara and Mike revealed they’d suffered a miscarriage shortly after announcing their pregnancy in November 2016 but they kept the other one a secret because it was "too raw."
She said recently: "You need to go through a period where you don’t talk about it because it’s too raw. But, as with everything, time’s a great healer. In our case, it was something that was really rare; it was nature saying, ”This one’s not right.’
"I had to go through having the baby because it was so far along.
"[Zara’s brother] Pete was again very much the protective brother; he was very concerned about me, as was Mike.
"Everyone was. It was a time when my family came to the fore and I needed them."
