Britain’s Zara Phillips will compete in the World Equestrian Games.
The former world eventing champion – who is the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth – has been named in Great Britain’s squad for the forthcoming competition, and couldn’t be happier to be joining Tina Cook, William Fox-Pitt, Pippa Funnell, Izzy Taylor and Oliver Townsend in the tournament.
Zara said: "It’s fantastic to be part of a team again."
The 33-year-old sportswoman – who gave birth to daughter Mia, her first child with husband Mike Tindall, in January – is confident about the chances she and her horse High Kingdom have at the games, which take place in Normandy, France, in August.
She added: "High Kingdom has improved each year and every time I’ve taken him to a big competition he’s got better and better.
"He’s felt good this year and hopefully will peak at the right time."
In 2012, Zara was the first member of the royal family to win an Olympic medal, taking silver as part of the Team GB eventing team.
She now has her sights set on competing in the 2016 Olympics, which will be staged in Rio, Brazil.
