Zara Larsson speaks up for women in pop

Zara Larsson says there should be less focus on women’s looks in pop music.
The ‘I Would Like’ singer is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in and will not be talked down to by men in the industry as she is "brave enough" to say whatever the "f***" she wants, but thinks it’s about time female musicians should be allowed to wear and say what they want without being objectified.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: "You really have to speak up – that’s why I say what I think. I’m brave enough to say how it is for once.
"I feel more confident in myself, but It’s easy to feel pushed down – especially by those older men in the industry.
"We’ll need to put a focus on the music rather than women’s looks – what they’re wearing or how they’re moving.
"If they want to be sexy, let them be sexy. I’ve learned to speak up and say what I feel.
"It’s really scary to throw your feelings out there to people who you’ve met for the first time, but it’s like f*** it, just do it."
The 19-year-old beauty is all about "girl power" and recently said she’d like to duet with fellow female pop star, Charli XCX.
Zara and the ‘After the Afterparty’ hitmaker met for the first time in November and fuelled speculation they were working on a collaboration by sharing a photo together on social media.
Although nothing is planned as of yet, the ‘Ain’t Your Fault’ hitmaker is keen to do something with the brunette beauty because she’s only ever done male collaborations before including ‘Girls Like’ featuring Tinie Tempah and ‘Never Forget You’ with MNEK. She previously told BANG Showbiz: "I would love to. I think she is amazing. I love her sound and she is a great person as well.
"Of all the collaborations I’ve been doing, they’ve all been with guys. So I would love to do something girl power."
