Years and Years record song for Bridget Jones’s Baby

Years & Years have recorded a song for the ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ soundtrack.
The pop trio – comprised of Olly Alexander, Mike Goldsworthy and Emre Turkmen – have written a brand new track for the film starring Renée Zellweger, who is returning as the titular character for a third outing.
The ‘Desire’ hitmakers’ song is called ‘Meteorite’ and is their first material since their 2015 LP ‘Communion’.
Their track ‘King’ will also be heard in the film, which hits cinemas on September 16.
They follow in the footsteps of Ellie Goulding, who recently dropped her single ‘Still Falling For You’, which is the only other new song to appear in the film.
The rest of the compilation – which comes out the same day as the chick flick – includes previously released work by the likes of Jess Glynne, Lily Allen, Sister Sledge, Marvin Gaye and The Temptations.
The ‘On My Mind’ hitmaker has plenty of experience of making music for films having previously released the smash hit, ‘Love Me Like You Do’, for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ last year, and her song ‘Beating Heart’ was used in 2014’s ‘Divergence’.
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran has a cameo role in the eagerly-anticipated romantic comedy.
The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ singer confirmed his role back in November after shooting scenes with Renée.
It is not yet known if Ed is playing himself or a fictional character but he has promised fans they are "gonna love" the movie.
At the time, he tweeted: "Spent the day being an actor in the new ‘Bridget Jones’ movie. Loved it, you’re gonna love it too… (sic)"

The tracklisting for ‘Bridget Jones’ Baby’ is:

Ellie Goulding – ‘Still Falling For You’
Years & Years – ‘Meteorite’
Knox Brown x Gallant – ‘Reignite’
Ed Sheeran – ‘Thinking Out Loud (Campfire Version)’
Jess Glynne – ‘Hold My Hand’
Billon – ‘Slave To The Vibe’
Years & Years – ‘King’
Tiggs Da Author – ‘Run’
Lily Allen – ‘Fuck You’
Annie Lennox – ‘The Hurting Time’
House Of Pain – ‘Jump Around’
The Isley Brothers – ‘That Lady’
Dionne Warwick – ‘Walk On By’
The Temptations – ‘Just My Imagination’
Marvin Gaye – ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’
Sister Sledge – ‘We Are Family’
McFadden & Whitehead – ‘Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now’
Craig Armstrong – ‘Race To Mark’s Flat’
Craig Armstrong – ‘Wedding’
