X Factor contestants watched by security

The ‘X Factor’ contestants are watched by security guards around the clock.
Finalist Emily Middlemas, 18, has laughed off claims she and boyfriend, and fellow contestant, Ryan Lawrie, have been having sex on the staircase of the house they share with the rest of the hopefuls, insisting it would be impossible even if they wanted to because they are constantly under scrutiny.
She said: "It’s one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard.
"We would never do that… We can laugh it off because if you saw the house you would be laughing as well. The security guards stand at the bottom of the stairs.
"You can see the whole house from the staircase. When we sit there to talk, we talk to the security too. The guards stay up all night in the corridor, so we wouldn’t do that anyway. But I mean, it’s impossible.
"If we’re lucky, we can steal a kiss for a minute but that’s as far as it can go."
And though they are living together, Emily admits she and Ryan, 20, don’t get many opportunities for time alone together.
She told heat magazine: "We don’t get alone time as we’re always with everyone. We’re not banned from each other’s rooms but are never in them because we don’t have any time."
The couple are aware that they could face one another in the sing-off at some stage in the competition, but they’re trying not to worry about it.
Emily said: "We’d just sing our hearts out[if we were in the sing-off together] and hope for the best."
