Woody Allen ‘beats himself up’ over every project

Woody Allen "beats himself up" over every project, according to actor John Magaro.
The 80-year-old actor and filmmaker works himself up into a frenzy over ever project he is set to complete and always doubts his ability to produce a successful final product, and was even tempted to stop filming for his first television series ‘Crisis in Six Scenes’ featuring Miley Cyrus.
Speaking about the film director, Magaro said: "I feel like Woody says that about everything. I feel like every project he gets onto he beats himself up over and thinks why’s he doing it. But I also feel like he loves the work. Every year he puts out a film. And this year, he put out a film [and a] TV series. He’s already on to the next [film]."
This news comes after Allen said shouldn’t have signed himself up to create the six-part American show because he didn’t expect it to be such "hard work".
Speaking at the ‘Crisis in Six Scenes’ New York Premier, he told The Hollywood Reporter: "It’s much harder than I thought. I thought, ‘Oh I do a movie all the time, and I’ve gotten so that I can do them,’ and I thought ‘Television, just six half hours, I can knock that off as if it’s nothing.’ But it wasn’t nothing.
"It was very hard work and I struggled and worked hard and it was much harder work than a movie and even more because you have to begin and end all of the time. It was a big nuisance. I mean I couldn’t just phone it in, to say the least."
And Allen has revealed he feared the programme would be a "cosmic embarrassment".
Speaking previously, he said: "I don’t watch any of those television series, so I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m floundering. I expect this to be a cosmic embarrassment."
